Rugby Fans, you won’t believe what happened at the CorpAcq Stadium last Friday night! In an unexpectedly comic scene, the start of the Premiership match between Sale Sharks and Harlequins was delayed. Why? Because someone forgot to clear the pre-match firework machines from the pitch! 😅

Picture this: both teams were ready to roll and then unexpectedly found themselves waiting on the field. With no help in sight, our hero of the hour, Welsh rugby legend Adam Jones, jumped into action. If you’ve ever wondered what a rugby star looks like lugging fireworks equipment off a pitch, this was it! Even the referee, Christophe Ridley, pitched in, while players and fans watched in disbelief. Talk about taking one for the team!

Once Jones & Co. cleared the field, it was game on. Harlequins burst out of the blocks, taking a 17-12 lead at halftime with tries from Marcus Smith and Jack Walker. Not to be outdone, Sale Sharks dominated the second half, scoring 31 unanswered points. Jacques Vermeulen was on fire with two tries while teammates Rekeiti Ma’asi-White, Raffi Quirke, and Nathan Jibulu crossed the line too.
By the final whistle, Sale was triumphant, though they remain seventh in the table. Harlequins, meanwhile, are facing an uphill battle, sitting 16 points adrift from play-off spots.
In rugby, you expect anything to happen on the pitch—but not before the match! What a night for the books! 🏉💥
Who else thinks Adam Jones deserves a round of applause? 👏 Let’s hear your thoughts!
