What do you get when you mix mashed swede and potato for dinner? For Rach Myers, it was a surprise visit from Santa Claus himself – nestled right in her ‘neeps and tatties’!
Rach, a mum from Leyland, Lancashire, was taken aback when her friend pointed out Santa’s unmistakable features – beard, eyes, and all – in her mashed dish. Initially there to enjoy her first taste of this classic meal, Rach found herself face-to-face with a jolly festive figure instead!
Her photo of the spud became a hit on Facebook, gathering hundreds of likes, shares, and amusing comments. Some folks even saw other famous bearded faces, like Jesus and Gandalf. Meanwhile, a few were simply puzzled by what ‘neeps and tatties’ meant – clearly not part of the swede-and-potato fan club yet!
In Rach’s words, “It was odd seeing Santa staring from my plate, especially because I’d already eaten him!” She’s now on high alert for other familiar faces during her mealtimes and admits, “I didn’t use to look for faces in my meals, but now I do! It won’t stop me from enjoying my food!”
