World number one, Luke Littler, found himself at odds with the crowd at Ally Pally during his intense 4-2 victory over former champ Rob Cross. Despite his remarkable performance, boasting a 106.58 average and 17 maximums, the 18-year-old was visibly irritated by the audience’s boos. Littler didn’t hold back, saying, “You guys pay for tickets and pay for my prize money, so thank you for the money, thank you for booing me!”
Meanwhile, 20-year-old sensation Charlie Manby continues to turn heads. The Huddersfield-born player fought his way to the last-16 without a PDC Tour card and is set to face world No.10 Gian van Veen. The only thing missing from his triumph over Ricky Evans was his girlfriend, whose job commitments kept her away, leaving Manby “heartbroken” yet grateful for his grandad’s presence.
Over in the other corner, Josh Rock is on a roll! The World Cup of Darts champion cruised into the last 16 with a commanding win over Callan Rydz. Confident and on top of his game, Rock declared, “I’m not here to make up the numbers – I’m here to win the title.”
