Picture this: a sunny day, a scenic Welsh beach, and a family ready for a seaside drive… until their VW Tiguan gets hopelessly trapped in soft sand! 😳 Despite warning signs, the family drove onto Barmouth beach, famous for its tricky shoreline that leaves cars stranded. Onlookers couldn’t believe their eyes, and the incident quickly sparked a flurry of tongue-in-cheek comments online. One cheeky post joked, “(what happens) when you get your satnav from Temu.”
Local residents didn’t hold back either. A slew of “can’t park there” comments rolled in, with one saying, “It’s such a shame common sense isn’t very common anymore.” Another jested it was like a new episode of “Squid Games!”
For those familiar with Barmouth, this wasn’t the first vehicular misadventure. Over the years, the beach has seen its fair share of cars stuck in the sand, much to the amusement and dismay of onlookers. Previously, a Honda Civic and a Peugeot hatchback faced similar fates, with a BMW famously being brought to a halt during an attempt to pull doughnuts on the sand!
The good news? After about an hour’s worth of digging, the family’s seven-seater was freed with some help from two lorry drivers. Thankfully, the tide seemed unlikely to claim the stranded car, sparing them that additional drama.
