Little did he know, this was only the beginning of a whirlwind journey through the world’s biggest creative projects.
Fast forward a decade, and Wild Creations now operates from a sprawling 22,000-square-foot workshop in Cardiff, with a team of 50 full-time employees and a host of freelancers. The company has partnered with industry giants like Universal, Sony, and Merlin, designing masterpieces for theme parks in Paris, Japan, and the USA. Remember the thrilling launch of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom? That was them! Wild Creations crafted life-sized T-Rex sculptures that roamed London, Paris, and even the movie’s Los Angeles premiere.
Samantha Wild, Matt’s wife and the company’s creative director, has played a pivotal role since joining in 2011. Her sculpting and business acumen have been invaluable, and together they’ve fostered a vibrant, innovative environment. Their journey hasn’t just been professional; it’s personal too. Married in 2019, Matt and Sam now enjoy life as parents to twin sons, Alfie and Jackson, who often show interest in their parents’ work.
