๐โฝ The January 2026 Transfer Window Kickoff!

Happy New Year, football lovers! The January transfer window has officially swung open. This means clubs across the UK and beyond are busy snapping up new talent for the rest of the season. ๐โโ๏ธ๐จ

First to the scene: Manchester City is already making moves, going after Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo with a hefty ยฃ65 million release clause! ๐คฏ๐ค Are we about to see a star striker change clubs?
๐
Key Dates to Note:
– The window opened on January 1 for English and Scottish clubs.
– Women’s leagues follow on January 2.
– Deadline Day for men’s football lands on Monday, February 2, 2026. The Premier League slams shut at 7 PM UK time. Most European leagues also close then, but Spain has until 11 PM!
– Womenโs football finishes up on February 3 at 11 PM.
๐ค Can transfers happen outside the window? Sort of! Players can negotiate deals outside these dates, but they can’t play until it opens. Free agents have more freedom; they can join any club, any time, if they’re not under contract.
๐ Loan Rules:
– Premier League clubs can have a max of two loan players at a time, and no more than four a season.
– For Championship (and below), clubs can loan a maximum of five players into a matchday squad, with some age restrictions.
Teams are strategising their mid-season shakeups, and the excitement is palpable! Who do you think will be the big movers and shakers this season? Drop your predictions below! ๐๐ฎ
