🚨 **Drug Gang Taken Down! 🚨**
In a major victory for law enforcement, a notorious drug gang exploiting children has been dismantled. Led by 24-year-old Dalton Raffell, this criminal network flooded Barry with crack cocaine and heroin. Sadly, children as young as 15 were coerced into the illegal trade by these ruthless individuals.
After a comprehensive investigation, officers uncovered significant drug activity tied to Raffell via a mobile phone. This led to the identification and arrest of his accomplices: Chiko Moyo, Jonathan Beasley, and Daniel Groves. The gang members have now been sentenced to a combined total of nearly 30 years in prison.
Raffell, from Cardiff, received a nine-year sentence for his role in orchestrating the drug distribution and exploiting young people. Moyo, 21, was given nine and a half years, facing similar charges. Beasley, 54, and Groves, 24, received seven and a half and three and a half years, respectively.
Additionally, Kelly-Ann Hocking and Aston Watkins have been convicted for their involvement in the gang, with sentences pending. These convictions serve as a stark reminder that drug gangs prey on the vulnerable, putting them in harm’s way for their own gain.
Detective Chief Inspector Tim Jones highlighted the sinister nature of these crimes, emphasising the gang’s blatant disregard for the safety of children. It’s vital for communities to recognise and act upon signs of exploitation, ensuring the protection and rescue of victims.
