🚨 Shocking courtroom drama unfolded in Cardiff as Ryan Howells, 32, faced the music for threatening his ex-partner and her family. The chilling tale began after the end of a five-year relationship, during which they had two children.

After the split, Howells bombarded his ex with more than 100 calls, some with terrifying threats: “I don’t care if the kids are there,” he menaced, threatening to petrol bomb her home and car. The victim was understandably petrified, especially as Howells persisted even with a restraining order in place. Howells also made disturbing threats towards her family, further shattering her sense of security.

When the police caught up with Howells, they discovered drugs in his possession. Despite attempts to contact her from jail, his ex stood firm, refusing to drop charges. She expressed the ongoing nightmare she lived with, from panic attacks to night terrors, feeling trapped by his relentless harassment.
The court also heard about Howells’ troubled past, battling drug misuse and childhood adversity. While he’s shown efforts to clean up his act, the judge wasn’t swayed and handed him a 10-month jail sentence alongside a five-year restraining order.
