The WRU’s governance changes back in 2023 aimed for a fresh start, but Central Glamorgan argues it’s not enough. They’re pushing for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to bring substantial change, claiming the current strategies are causing chaos and confusion.

To call an EGM, at least 10% of voting clubs need to back the move. Central Glamorgan is rallying clubs to gather as much support as possible. They want a stronger message sent about the necessity for change. 🗳️

The WRU, however, is sticking to its guns, stating, “We have a clear governance process and we’ll continue engaging with member clubs.” The organisation remains committed to rolling out its future plans, emphasising support from stakeholders for long-term health.

This all comes on the heels of a heated backdrop, with Super Rygbi Cymru clubs also challenging WRU plans for central appointments of coaching teams. Plus, there’s talk of slimming down the number of professional clubs from four to three. ⚠️
