🐟🐾 Meet Elvis, the seal with an incredible comeback story! Just under a week old and separated from her mum, Elvis was found injured and starving on Porthcawl seafront. But thanks to dedicated rescuers, she’s on her way to a full recovery!

Elvis was scooped up by the fantastic folks at RNLI and British Divers Marine Life Rescue, who ensured she got to the experts at the RSPCA’s West Hatch centre. There, she received top-notch care and a steady supply of fish and medicine. 🎣🩺

Named after the annual Elvis Festival in Porthcawl, this little trooper is gaining weight and strength every day. Elvis weighed just 30.5kg as of Christmas and needs to hit 35kg to swim back to her home in the ocean. If all goes well, she could be exploring the waves again by early next year, right off the Devon coast! 🌊
Paul Oaten, a wildlife supervisor, shared exciting updates on her progress. She’s chilling in one of their large pools with a seal friend named Dido. Elvis has put on an impressive 13.6kg since being admitted in September and completed her round of antibiotics. Her wounds? All healed up! 💪🐬
Big shoutout to everyone who helped Elvis, showing the power of teamwork. If you ever spot a seal on land, remember to keep a distance. Seals might look cute, but they can give a nasty bite if disturbed. So let’s keep our furry friends safe and observe them respectfully from afar. 🦭❤️
Reminder: If you see a seal that seems hurt or distressed, or if it’s been alone on a busy beach, please contact the emergency line at 0300 1234 999 and always keep dogs on a lead near seal colonies. 🐶🦭
Give your support to the heroes working tirelessly for wildlife and let’s wish Elvis all the best on her journey back to the wild! 🌟
