An 11-year-old girl is in hospital after being hit by a car on Newport’s busy Corporation Road. The unfortunate event took place shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, stirring a swift response from emergency services. Gwent Police, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Wales Air Ambulance, arrived promptly at the scene.
The collision involved a blue Honda Jazz and happened near the junction with Lennard Street. The young pedestrian’s injuries are reported to be serious, and she is receiving medical treatment in hospital.
