🔔 Smelly Saga at Bethesda Tesco! 🔔
Residents and shoppers in Bethesda, Gwynedd, had quite the surprise when a strong ‘eggy’ smell wafted through the high street, leading to the temporary evacuation of the local Tesco Express. The distinct odour stirred up concerns of a possible gas leak, prompting quick action from both locals and the store employees.
Grace Scott, who was out for a stroll with her family, joined others in alerting the emergency hotline. “We walked past Tesco, and all the workers were outside in the cold because the smell was awful,” she shared.
Wales and West Utilities swiftly responded to the calls, dispatching a team to investigate the unusual scent. Their tests, conducted both on Sunday evening and repeated the following morning, revealed no signs of a gas leak. A spokesperson confirmed that the store could safely reopen after these checks. “We found no evidence of gas or a gas leak after thorough safety checks,” they reassured.
