Nestle has issued a recall on several baby formula products over concerns they may contain a toxin. Parents, check your cupboards! The affected formulas include SMA Advanced First Infant Milk, SMA Advanced Follow-On Milk, SMA Anti Reflux, and more.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has flagged certain batches that could contain the cereulide toxin. This toxin, produced by Bacillus Cereus bacteria, can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps if consumed. So far, there have been no reports of illnesses, but Nestle is taking no chances.
The issue comes from an ingredient supplied by a trusted source, and both Nestle and the FSA are acting fast to make sure these products are off the shelves. Nestle reassures everyone that they’re working to ensure family health and minimise supply disruption.
