🚫 Glamping Dream Derailed! 🚫

A Ceredigion farmer’s dream to diversify with two cosy glamping pods has hit a roadblock! 🌿🚜 Huw Jones’ proposal to add charming accommodation to Bryn Farm, just a stone’s throw from Cardigan, was turned down again by the local council. Why, you ask? Because of a strong “no” to more static holiday units near the coast! 🏖️💔

Ceredigion’s Local Development Plan steps in here, aiming to keep the scenic coastal region from being overwhelmed by too many static caravans and chalets. The council firmly believes there’s already plenty, and they’re all about preserving that serene seaside vibe! 🌊
Despite Huw’s attempt to address previous concerns—like replanting hedgerows for better vehicle access and tweaking the design—the planners insisted that the pods were more like chalets due to their size and permanence. 🚧🌳
There’s an expectation for these glamping units to be less like mini-hotels and more in tune with their natural setting. But, sadly, officials feel this application just doesn’t quite fit the bill. 🙅♂️
So, for now, the rolling green fields of Bryn Farm will have to wait a bit longer before welcoming glamping enthusiasts. What are your thoughts—fair call to preserve the coast or missed opportunity for the farm? 🤔🌿
