🏉 Exciting times for Swansea RFC! They’ve just announced Joe Thomas as their new head coach, stepping up from his assistant role. Joe, a former Ospreys and Leicester Tigers centre, is no stranger to Swansea, having led the Swansea University men’s team in the BUCS Super Rugby Championship. He’s all set to bring his innovative approach to the club. 🙌

He’s taking over from Jonathan Thomas, the respected former Wales backrower, who had to step down last month due to health reasons. Despite the change, there’s plenty to be optimistic about with Swansea currently sitting fifth on the SRC table. 📈
Joining Joe in this new chapter is Ospreys lock Huw Sutton, who’s coming on board as the forwards coach. Huw is no stranger to the squad, having played 15 times for the club before joining Ospreys. Alongside him, the legendary Paul James will continue to work on the team’s set-pieces.

Managing Director Keith Colclough is thrilled: “In Joe, we have an innovative coach who truly understands Swansea RFC’s rich history and ambition. Huw brings fresh insights from the professional game. These appointments set us up brilliantly for the future.”
Joe shared his excitement: “I’m proud and excited to take on this role at my hometown club. We’ve got a great group of players and a supportive team. I’m optimistic about building something special here.”
As the second half of the season approaches, fans can’t wait to see Joe and his team in action. Who else is excited for what’s to come? Let’s go, Swansea! 🏆
