Gabby Logan has shared a touching tribute following the passing of her father, football legend Terry Yorath, at 75. The news came after Gabby had to step away from her Match of the Day duties due to a “family emergency.” In a heartfelt statement, Gabby, alongside her siblings Louise and Jordan, expressed their heartache, remembering Terry not only as a renowned footballer but as a loving father. “To most, he was a revered footballing hero, but to us, he was dad; a quiet, kind and gentle man. We take comfort knowing he will be reunited with our brother, Daniel,” they shared.

Gabby also took to Instagram to say, “Rest in peace dad, our hearts are broken. Your love and legacy live on.” Daniel tragically passed away at 15 due to a heart condition, shortly after signing with Leeds United. Terry had also been a significant figure in the Leeds United community, and the club honoured him as a legend, expressing their deep sorrow at his passing.

Born in Cardiff, Terry proudly represented Wales 59 times as a player and later brought leadership to the Welsh national team as a manager. His contributions to football were celebrated not just in Wales but throughout the UK. The Football Association of Wales paid tribute to his immense impact on the sport, offering condolences to his loved ones.
Terry’s career also included managing Bradford City, and his legacy extends beyond the pitch. Fondly remembered for his gentle spirit and remarkable achievements, he leaves behind an enduring love eternally cherished by his family. Thoughts are with the Yorath family during this difficult time. RIP Terry, a true football icon. 🖤⚽
