πβ¨ Exciting Update for Pembrokeshire! β¨π

A planning proposal that left a local community “astonished” is getting a second look! Councillors will now make the decision on a controversial farm diversification scheme previously shot down by planning officers.

The proposal comes from Van Der Spoel of Castle Villa Farm in Hayscastle, who wants to expand his family-run business, FRIO ASTRID EURO Ltd, into a nearby agricultural building. This unique venture packages and distributes specialist medical equipment, including FRIO’s world-renowned insulin cooling wallets, across seven European countries!
Back in July, the application was refused due to concerns it couldn’t be placed elsewhere. But with local support and no community complaints, Councillor Mark Carter called for a committee decision, even highlighting potential job losses if the expansion doesnβt proceed.
The local community council was stunned that there was any opposition, and neighbouring ward member, Councillor Michelle Bateman, emphasised the economic interdependence between this business and FRIO UK. More jobs and prosperity could hinge on this decision!
Thanks to the advocacy of new committee vice-chair Councillor Huw Murphy, the decision will now go to the full planning committee. Stay tuned as this vibrant community business gets its chance for a brighter future! π±π€
