The search for Kurtis Brooks, a beloved footballer, has been called off after he was last seen entering the River Teifi in Cardigan over a week ago. Despite extensive efforts by police, RNLI, and Coastguard teams, there has been no sign of Kurtis since he disappeared in the early hours of January 4th.

Kurtis, 30, is deeply cherished by his teammates at Maesglas FC. The club expressed their heartbreak, noting his vital role in their recent success and the strong friendships he formed within the team. They stated, “This is an incredibly difficult time, and our thoughts and prayers are with Kurtis and his family.”
Chief Inspector Richard Yelland announced the difficult decision to halt the search, ensuring that the community and Kurtis’ family were updated. “We are satisfied that we have done absolutely everything we can to try and locate Kurtis,” he said.

The close-knit community of Cardigan has been a pillar of support for the involved agencies and Kurtis’ loved ones. The police remain open to any new information regarding his whereabouts and extend gratitude to all who have supported the ongoing enquiry.
Our hearts go out to Kurtis’ family and friends during this challenging time, hoping for answers and closure soon. ❤️
