The place where we once shopped ’til we dropped is getting a major facelift, with a substantial £40m investment from both UK and Welsh Government funds, along with local council support. The plan is to breathe new life into the space with facilities for health, fitness, and leisure enthusiasts. 🏋️‍♂️🩺

Cllr Alun Lenny assures us that the extra costs and delays are just a bump in the road to revitalising Carmarthen. “Despite the extra costs and delays, boarded-up stores will not be a sight in our town,” he insisted.

Once completed, the hub will offer everything from educational facilities to a round-the-clock gym, soft play area, adventure golf, and even go-karting! Hywel Dda University Health Board and University of Wales Trinity Saint David are also part of this exciting project. 🎓🏎️

The council remains optimistic, with doors expected to swing open in 2026. And that’s not all – exciting developments are planned across the region, from new parking facilities and electric vehicle charging points to modernising schools and refreshing the historic Kidwelly Town Hall.

Stay tuned, Carmarthen – a new era is on the horizon! 🌟
