Inquest Unveils Identity of Deceased Teen Discovered at Train Station in Wales

Thomas was found dead at Shotton train station on what began as a regular Wednesday. An inquest in Ruthin revealed that the young man was seen by a train driver on the tracks, just 30 yards from the platform. Despite the driver’s quick reactions, tragedy was unavoidable.

John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, shared that the initial alert came from the British Transport Police. A post-mortem conducted by Dr Mark Atkinson cited multiple injuries as the preliminary cause of death. With the British Transport Police still investigating, the inquest is on hold for now.
