In a tragic turn of events, Paria Veisi, 37, was found murdered in her estranged husband’s garden in Cardiff. Alireza Askari, 42, has confessed to the heart-breaking crime after her family reported her missing. Originally from Iran, Paria was last spotted driving her black Mercedes after leaving work on April 12. Sadly, she was discovered later with fatal stab wounds to her neck and chest.

The disturbing details emerged at Cardiff Crown Court, where Askari admitted to murder as well as an earlier charge of manslaughter and preventing a lawful burial. His aunt, Maryam Delavary from London, also pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in this tragic case. While Askari faces life imprisonment, the judge will set a minimum term in February.

As the community grapples with this tragic loss, around 100 mourners gathered at the Norwegian church in Cardiff Bay to honour Paria’s memory. Space was so limited that many attendees had to step outside to let others in. Paria’s close friend, Sara Rezaei, shared a moving tribute, describing her as a kind, caring, and vibrant soul who brought endless joy and selflessness into the lives of those around her.
Our hearts go out to Paria’s friends and family during this devastating time. 💔
