🍽️ A Welsh pub, The Waterloo Inn in Newport, recently received a low food hygiene rating after quite the shake-up in the kitchen! Following an inspection on November 13, they scored a 1. 📉 This comes after a period of chaos, including the controversial dismissal of their former chef, who left under a cloud after mistreating a couple over a review. 😬👩🍳

Management explained this poor rating was due to a “brief transition period” which caused lapses in management controls and record-keeping. They assure us the inspection didn’t find any unsafe food or health issues – it was more about updating procedures after the shake-up. 📝 They’ve since brought on a brand-new, highly experienced chef and have got their kitchen systems back on track.

The pub remains confident for a re-inspection soon and is committed to maintaining top-notch food safety. 💪 After all, food safety and compliance are their top priorities! 🍻
Despite the hiccup, The Waterloo Inn still prides itself on its character-driven atmosphere as a bar, restaurant, and micro-distillery – maintaining strong ratings on Google (4.5 stars) and TripAdvisor (4.2 stars). ⭐
Stay tuned for more updates, as they seem determined to make a comeback! 🍴🥂
