A shocking plot to attack Oasis fans at a Cardiff concert and a local dance school has been revealed. McKenzie Morgan, 18, from Cwmbran, shared his chilling plans with friends via Snapchat last year. At just 17, Morgan anticipated striking on July 4, 2025, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, whilst also targeting a dance school in his neighbourhood.

The Old Bailey heard that Morgan had praised Southport attacker Axel Rudakubana, who is serving a 52-year sentence for a deadly 2024 attack in Merseyside. Morgan not only shared images of Rudakubana but expressed a desire to carry out a similar assault, even attempting to make the poison ricin.
Fortunately, a friend reported Morgan’s threats to the police, and mental health concerns from his mother led to further investigation. When speaking with a psychiatric nurse, Morgan admitted to plotting a violent act. This confession prompted immediate police action, leading to his arrest and the seizure of his electronic devices, which contained a terrorist manual.

In his defence, Morgan claimed he was only trying to shock people because he was unhappy and bullied, and denied any real intention to carry out the attacks. Despite no history of violence, the court identified him as a high risk to both himself and others. As Morgan turned 18, the court lifted anonymity restrictions, bringing his identity to light.

As we reflect on this unsettling news, let’s remain vigilant and supportive of community safety. Stay aware, and look out for each other.
