Did you know that during your lifetime, you’ll drive the equivalent of 63 times around the world? According to a study by Honda, the average motorist will cover over one and a half million miles. That’s equivalent to completing three round trips to the moon! 🚗🌍

Some drivers are loyal to their vehicles, with 21% sticking with the same car for over a decade, while others switch it up every five years, often tempted by newer models. The research, which surveyed 2,000 drivers, found that folks typically pass their driving test on the second attempt and own around five cars throughout their lives.

As we put more miles behind us, we also grow more adventurous. By 25, many hit the road abroad, although almost half have yet to give it a go. And let’s not forget about the first love: 15% bought their first car at the tender age of 17 for around £2,999.

Why do we switch cars so often? Nearly half of us simply crave something new, but if the current set of wheels works fine, 42% will hang on until it doesn’t. When shopping for a new ride, 75% look at the price first, while comfort and brand loyalty also drive decisions.
Looking to the future, there’s a growing wave of eco-conscious drivers eyeing electric vehicles. However, many hold back due to high costs and limited charging options.
And how about keeping our vehicles spick and span? Gen Z leads the way—22% of them clean their car every week, more than any other age group. On average, we spend 45 minutes sprucing up our cars every few months.
What’s next on your driving journey? Whether you’re sticking with petrol or going electric, it seems the road ahead is full of exciting possibilities! 🚙✨
