๐ข Let’s talk about the power of a simple break! ๐ต

Did you know that traditional tea breaks are fading away? ๐ A recent survey by Three UK found that over a third of us barely leave our desks during the workday, and most only take a break for a quick loo visit. ๐ฌ But here’s the kicker: 76% of people say that taking breaks positively impacts their mental health. ๐ง
Enter Samaritans’ Brew Monday, a fantastic twist on the dreaded ‘Blue Monday’. It’s all about breaking the routine with a warm cuppa and a chat, whether you’re catching up in person or over the phone. โ๏ธ๐ This year, Three and Samaritans are rolling out the ‘Tea Leave’ initiative, encouraging workplaces to offer a 30-minute, no-questions-asked break. It’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and get some fresh air. ๐ฌ๏ธ

Mental health advocate Dr Alex George champions this initiative, noting, “Making time away from your desk can play a huge role in supporting our mental health.” ๐
Here’s some insight: 70% of workers believe stepping out for a quick tea or coffee can spark meaningful conversations, with 73% saying these moments greatly support their mental health. More so than even dedicated wellness sessions or team-building days! ๐ซ
What do people do with this precious break time? 44% aim to get outside more, while a fifth of them use it to catch up on texts from friends and family. ๐ฑ Some even hop on a quick video call. โค๏ธ
A Samaritans spokesperson emphasises, “The smallest gestures often make the biggest difference.” This initiative is a testament to that. ๐
To spread the good vibes, Three has also launched a perk for its customers this week: Two ยฃ1 hot drinks at cafes across the UK! โ๏ธ๐
So why not take a moment today and join the ‘Tea Leave’ movement? Reconnect, recharge, and remind yourself how good human connection feels. ๐ฌ๐
