In a disturbing case, a couple was sentenced for keeping dozens of dogs and snakes in appalling conditions inside their home. RSPCA inspectors found animals living among piles of faeces, with the smell hitting them even from outside the property. The scene inside was heart-wrenching, with each room covered in animal waste.

Among the heartbreaking discoveries were two deceased dogs. One dog was found in a freezer, infested with parasites, while another had sustained severe injuries. Many of the 29 dogs, puppies, and 17 snakes were found starved and ill. Tragically, some animals didn’t survive the ordeal even after rescue.

Swansea Crown Court didn’t hold back. Lee Lock, 38, and Zoe Graham, 33, faced the wrath of the law. Judge Huw Rees slammed them for their “unconscionable cruelty,” handing Lock a 45-month prison sentence and Graham an 18-month sentence. Both are now banned from owning animals, with Lock facing a 25-year disqualification and Graham 15 years.

It’s a grim reminder of the impact animal neglect can have. The couple had initially hoped to provide a home for homeless animals, but things spiralled out of control. As sentences are handed down, the focus now turns to ensuring such cruelty is never repeated. The couple’s neighbours and the community are left in shock and sorrow for the innocent animals that endured such hardship. 🐾💔
