🚨 Two Golf Course Bandits Snag £40,000 in Gear 🚨
Late-night drama unfolded as two cheeky marauders thought they’d pulled off the perfect golf club heist, making off with £40,000 worth of gear. But it turns out their getaway wasn’t as smooth as they hoped!
Meet Mikael Bourkhari and Simon Dickey from Newport. Their master plan to loot elite golf clubs across west Wales was foiled by some top-notch police work. 🚓
🎯 Here’s how it went down: Around 12:45 am on a chilly Sunday, officers were notified of a blaring alarm at Haverfordwest Golf Club. Quick to respond, the police discovered a “forcible break-in” and cleared-out shelves of golfing goods worth a whopping £36,000!
As detectives pieced together the clues, a suspicious red Vauxhall van popped up on their radar. 🚐 Thanks to eagle-eyed control room staff, a description was flashed to officers across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
Just when they thought the night couldn’t get worse, the burglars hit a second spot – Carmarthen Golf Club. Again, chaos awaited officers on their arrival: a bashed-in front door, a yellow crowbar thrown aside, £7,000 worth of snazzy clubs vanished, and an extra £5,000 worth of damage was done.
🎃 The cheeky rascals hit the road once more, but not for long! 🚦 Close to 2 am, the law nabbed the rogue van on the A48 heading towards Pont Abraham. Inside? As predicted – a suspiciously enormous haul of clubs and bags.
Fake names like “Richard Smythe” and “Michael Hale” didn’t save them. Both men now face the music, pleading guilty to burglary and obstructing police when they faced Llanelli’s justice. 🎤
Detective Sergeant Sophie Lambert lauded the quick-thinking teams that acted double-quick, preventing even more havoc. Thanks to their top teamwork, the stolen goods soon returned to their rightful homes. 🏌️♂️
Heads up, Newport villains: our bobbies aren’t called “the best” for nothing! They’re watching and ready to act if you cross the line.
