Meet five-year-old Maisie, a little girl who has known her true name practically since she began to speak! Originally named Margaret at birth, Maisie has expressed a strong dislike for her birth name since she could talk, and she’s been insisting on being called Maisie ever since.
Parents Amanda and Dan Biddle decided to honour their daughter’s heartfelt choice. Although they initially named her Margaret to honour family tradition, the couple always had a soft spot for the name Maisie, which has organically become the name that perfectly fits their spirited daughter. They’re now thrilled to announce that Maisie’s name change is official!
Come March 11, Maisie’s new name will legally be Maisie Margaret-Olivia, combining her birth and middle names into a meaningful hyphenated middle name. Their decision has been warmly received by family and friends, most of whom have always known her as Maisie anyway!
Amanda confessed that the overwhelming support for Maisie’s name change has been touching. Many have shared their own stories of names they weren’t fond of, further assuring the family that they made the right choice for their daughter.
Now, the whole family is looking forward to the joy and confidence that comes with Maisie finally having a name that truly reflects who she is. 🌟
