Beloved weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has decided to bid farewell to the BBC after an incredible 25-year journey! Having joined in 1998, Carol’s become a household name, brightening our mornings with her sunny disposition and accurate forecasts. 🌈

Carol will officially step down in April, taking with her countless cherished memories. “This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but it feels like the right moment to step away,” she shared. For over a decade, she’s been the go-to for BBC Breakfast weather updates, not to mention her work on The One Show and her unforgettable stint on Strictly Come Dancing. 💃
Trained at the Met Office, Weather Channel, and BBC Weather Centre, Carol has been the epitome of professionalism, earning multiple accolades for her work. Jonathan Munro, interim CEO of BBC News, praised her as setting “the gold standard” with her reports. ☀️
As we look back at her impressive career, from broadcasts at Wimbledon to royal events, we can’t help but feel a twinge of sadness.
