Hobbycraft has just announced an urgent recall of its popular Giant Box of Craft due to asbestos fears. 💔 The arts and crafts kit, which includes vials of coloured sand, may contain “a small quantity” of this hazardous substance. 😱

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a warning, as even low levels of asbestos exposure pose serious health risks, especially for children. The product doesn’t meet the UK’s General Product Safety regulations, so it’s been pulled from shelves and customers are urged to act immediately.

Here’s what you need to do:
1. Stop using the product right away.
2. If the sand is unused, double-bag it in a heavy-duty plastic bag, tape it securely, and keep it out of reach of children.
3. For used sand, clean up the area with wet cloths to prevent dust, wearing gloves and a mask. Double-bag all clean-up materials before disposing.

Customers can return the sand vials to any Hobbycraft store for a full refund or dispose of them with your general household waste after following the safety steps. Can’t make it to a store? Contact Hobbycraft directly to arrange a refund. 💵

Your safety is our top priority, so please spread the word and make sure anyone affected takes action. For more info, visit Hobbycraft’s website or call their customer service at 0330 026 1400.
