A Swansea dealer, Sean Doyle from Waunarlwydd, bragged about his Valium being the “best” in the city for 15 years. But his criminal run hit a snag when police found over 1,500 diazepam tablets and four mobile phones with incriminating messages inside his car. Doyle, 36, was arrested after officers executed a search on his vehicle and unearthed a stash of Class C drugs and a small amount of cocaine.

Prosecutors revealed that Doyle was selling about 10 boxes of Valium weekly and was looking to expand into bulk sales. Messages extracted from his phones confirmed his busy trade in diazepam, with attractive deals for big buyers. Although he remained tight-lipped during questioning, the evidence was overwhelming.

Doyle, who was also caught with crack cocaine, pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to three years in prison. He has a history of run-ins with the law, with previous convictions for drug supply dating back to 2009. His lawyer highlighted that Doyle began using Class C drugs at a young age due to tragic personal circumstances and only recently kicked the habit, crediting his new partner for helping him see a brighter future.
The judge acknowledged Doyle’s difficult past but reminded him that turning to drugs only worsens life’s challenges. Now, after his guilty plea, he faces time behind bars, spending up to half the sentence in custody before potentially being released on licence. His story serves as a stark reminder of the high stakes in the world of illicit drug trade.
