Councillors in Bridgend are raising eyebrows over how authorities are dealing with fly-tipping! Despite persistent littering issues, the number of fines issued remains “stubbornly low.” π«π΅

At a recent council meeting, Cllr Tim Thomas voiced concerns, noting that since 2015, action against fly-tippers has been practically nonexistent. Yet, reports indicate over 1,500 incidents in just the 2023-24 year alone! πποΈ

The council defends its approach, claiming that a focus on prevention and education is reducing waste incidents. Cabinet member Gary Haines insists that the figures are dropping and pledges that enforcement costs play a big part in their current strategy. π’π
