🏉 Heartfelt Goodbye to Australian Rugby Star Ned Hanigan at 30! 🌟

We’re bidding a tearful adieu to the remarkable Ned Hanigan, who’s hanging up his boots at just 30 following medical advice. This towering 6ft 4in back-row dynamo made waves in the rugby world, earning 28 caps for the Wallabies since his debut in 2017. His final international showdown was against Wales in the 2022 Autumn Nations Cup.

Hanigan has had an adventurous club career too, playing twice for the Waratahs, the New South Wales Country Eagles, Japan’s Kurita Water Gush, and most recently, France’s Provence since 2024. Sadly, after just five memorable appearances for the French side, he’s been urged to step back from the game to focus on his health.

Provence shared an emotional statement respecting this tough decision, lauding Hanigan as intelligent, athletic, and a decision-maker with charm that left a mark both on and off the pitch. His incredible team spirit, kindness, and humility have been cherished by all who crossed paths with him.
In a heartfelt farewell at Provence’s training ground, Hanigan was sent off with cheers, hugs, and a framed shirt, surrounded by teammates, including Wales’ own rugby legend, George North, who joined Provence alongside him. The bond created on and off the field remains unbreakable, as celebrated by Provence’s moving social media tribute: “No matter how many matches you play, the bonds will remain. Thank you, Ned. You’re part of the family.”
As we say goodbye to a rugby great, we celebrate Ned Hanigan’s amazing journey and the indelible legacy he leaves behind. His warmth, sportsmanship, and drive will be dearly missed in the rugby community. 🌍💚
