A teenager has been arrested after a pupil was reportedly stabbed with a baiting needle at St Mary’s College in Wallasey. Emergency services were called to the scene around 2:25pm on Friday, 30th January. The injured boy was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.

Witnesses described seeing several police cars and an ambulance arriving at the school. A 13-year-old from Rock Ferry is in custody, suspected of wounding with intent under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act.

Inspector Ian Wild expressed shock over the incident, saying, “The use of any sharp object to inflict harm on others is never acceptable.” The police will be continuing their investigation and supporting the school community, emphasising the importance of understanding the dangers of using weapons.
