Meet Anthony Taylor, a Swansea City fan whose life took a drastic turn after a doctor told him he was “a heart attack waiting to happen.” Weighing 22 stone at 42 years old, Anthony was determined to change his narrative. Despite challenges, including the heart-breaking loss of his father to sepsis, Anthony has shed an incredible six and a half stone!

So, how did he do it? With the help of his local Slimming World group, Anthony found the motivation to overhaul his lifestyle. Gone are the days of sugary drinks and endless takeaways. Instead, Anthony embraced healthier choices and even incorporated exercise into his daily routine.
Diagnosed with sleep apnoea, Anthony didn’t want to spend the rest of his life tethered to a machine. The turning point? A doctor’s words and his own desire to honour his father’s memory. “I can’t be doing this,” he recalls thinking. “I don’t want to sleep with this machine.”

Now down to 15 stone, he has reversed his sleep apnoea, dropped three dress sizes, and even inspired family members to join him on this transformative journey. His mum, once sceptical, has joined the group too, now cheering from the sidelines as Anthony trains to run a 10k in his father’s memory.
Anthony’s journey is a testament to willpower and the support of a strong community. His candid admission? “Everyone’s there for a reason… I’ve met new friends and it’s helped not just with the weight, but with my mental health too.”

Winning the Greatest Loser 2026 award, his story is a powerful reminder of the impact of small changes. Anthony’s newfound zest for life is evident as he helps others on similar paths, proving that if he can do it, anyone can.
Imagine the pride on his late father’s face; it’s this pride that drives Anthony to keep going, even on tough days. As he says, “The proof is in the pudding.” Let’s celebrate Anthony’s inspiring journey and the promise of better health, one step at a time! 🏃♂️💪✨
