Having already conquered a 1,000-mile trek around Wales, Jamie’s new adventure will see him traverse 11 countries and some of Europe’s wildest landscapes. Picture him camping under starry skies in places where bears and wolves roam. 🐻🐺 His route winds through iconic terrains like the South Downs Way, the Black Forest, and the majestic Balkan mountains, taking him to cultural hubs like Strasbourg, Bratislava, and Belgrade.
Jamie isn’t your typical athlete. He’s a travel-spirited linguist, prepared to tackle 11 different languages along the way! With a light tent and a spirit of adventure, he’s keen to immerse himself in local cultures while supporting a cause close to his heart. 🏕️📚
His mission is to raise funds for the local Welsh language nursery, Cylch Meithrin y Gurnos, vital for nurturing Welsh speakers from a young age. Jamie has deep ties to his community, having raised £3,000 with his previous trek around Wales, and this journey aims to raise even more! 🌟🌿
As Jamie turns 50, he’s grabbing life by the walking boots, eager to undertake this personal quest now, rather than later. He says it’s more than just walking. It’s about meeting people, embracing nature, and giving back to the community that shaped him.
