Revitalization Project Set to Breathe New Life into Downtown McDonald’s Hub

Exciting changes are coming to Swansea’s city centre! A major transformation is on the horizon for the block overlooking Castle Square. The upper floors above McDonald’s and Taco Bell will soon house 29 brand-new one and two-bedroom apartments. But don’t worry, your favourite fast-food spots aren’t going anywhere—they’ll just be reshuffled, with McDonald’s moving to the basement and ground floor levels.

Bike enthusiasts, rejoice—a new bike store is part of the plan, keeping your ride safe and secure. The existing substation and bin area will be relocated to make room for these improvements.

Planners are calling this project a “great improvement to the city centre”, and it’s easy to see why. With Kartay Holdings Ltd steering the ship, the development promises to add a fresh touch to Princess Way and Oxford Street.

This isn’t the only facelift the area is getting. A separate initiative by the council is set to give Castle Square a much-needed update, while the brand-new central library and archives building, Y Storfa, has recently opened its doors at the nearby corner.
