Residents and staff at Tŷ Hafan charity shop got the surprise of their lives when the Princess of Wales popped in unannounced during her West Wales tour on Tuesday. The impromptu visit was a delightful detour after she visited local producers like Melin Tregwynt woollen mill and Hiut Denim.
Princess Kate, always the people’s princess, prioritised connecting with the community. She was said to be overjoyed recognizing the importance of local support networks and didn’t hesitate to shake hands, chat warmly with volunteers, and even insisted on seeing the haberdashery section (despite being on a tight schedule!). Her interaction left everyone thrilled and ‘over the moon’—it’s not every day royalty casually drops by.
The princess made sure to sign the shop’s customer comments book and even shared a heartfelt hug with volunteer Jenny. Regional Sales Manager, Maree Thomas, confessed they were on a high from the royal encounter and expressed hopes she’d visit again.
The day wasn’t just about surprises. Earlier, Princess Kate flexed her crafting skills by attempting jean making at Hiut Denim and marvelling at the artisanship of Welsh wool at Melin Tregwynt.
