🚨 Swansea City Centre Alert! 🚨
Heads up, Swansea folks! The city centre is under a special dispersal order for the next 48 hours due to a spike in anti-social behaviour caused by some troublesome youths. Police have been granted extra powers to tackle this – so here’s what’s happening:
👮♂️ Under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, police can now demand anyone causing, or likely to cause, harassment or distress to leave the area. They’re also empowered to seize items used in such activities.
🛑 This is all about prevention. Recent incidents have ramped up reports of bad behaviour, so expect to see more police around town ensuring everyone stays safe and sound.
🚫 The order covers the city centre area, stretching from superstores near the waterfront up to Caemarthen Road and North Road. Got plans in town? Just be aware!
South Wales Police are keeping a firm stance on maintaining peace, and remember, this measure is temporary until midday Sunday, February 8.
