Exciting times in Wales! Construction has begun on a fabulous new housing development catering specifically for those aged 55 and over. Nestled on the former Haverfordia House site, the Tŷ Haverfordia project promises to offer more than just a place to live. It’s set to become a vibrant community with 26 sheltered apartments and a 12-bed reablement centre to help folks transition from hospital back home smoothly.

With the project underway since January 26, thanks to Wynne Construction, safety and accessibility remain top priorities. Pathways around nearby conveniences like the GP surgery and Haverfordwest Leisure Centre are still open, and ample parking, including disabled spaces, are maintained. Temporary use of a small part of Rifleman Field has been carefully planned to minimise disruption and will be fully restored once the project wraps up.
This development is a shining example of Pembrokeshire County Council’s commitment to providing high-quality housing and modern healthcare support. Join us for a Community Engagement Drop-in Event on Thursday, February 19, from 5-7pm at The Green Room, Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, to learn more and share your thoughts.

Councillor Michelle Bateman has expressed her excitement as this ambitious project moves forward, thanks in part to crucial support from the Welsh Government. It’s a forward-thinking endeavour answering the call for more suitable one-bedroom properties and modernised living spaces.
Stay tuned for more updates on this transformational project aiming to foster a sense of community and independence for older residents. Whether you’re passing by or planning to become part of this community, Tŷ Haverfordia is poised to make a difference in many lives. 🎉🏡
