A local man, Andrew Lewis, has been jailed for over two years after being caught committing a disturbing act while looking into a children’s playground. 📸 Two young heroes, aged just 11 and 12, courageously captured footage of Lewis exposing himself on two separate occasions last summer. The incidents occurred right in his garden, where Lewis had a clear view of the play area near his home.

👨‍⚖️ During a hearing at Newport Crown Court, Judge Carl Harrison revealed how Lewis “intentionally exposed” himself. On June 1, 2025, he was caught in the act by the children, standing in an elevated position in his garden. Just over a month later, on July 23, the appalling behaviour continued, again witnessed by young locals.

The court wasn’t lenient. Lewis received a 25-month prison sentence and faces rigorous restrictions under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that lasts a decade. The order prohibits him from being in any household with children under 16 unless supervised by their parents and restricts his clothing to “normal” attire within his garden. 🚫🏡

Lewis will also be paying a victim surcharge and cannot enter any play parks or similar areas. These steps aim to ensure community safety and prevent any further distress to residents and children in the area.

This shocking case serves as a reminder to remain vigilant and highlights the bravery of young members of the community who took action. Let’s hope this brings some peace of mind to Oakdale residents.

Stay safe and look out for one another! 🌍❤️
