🚨 Attention, Wales! 🚨 The upcoming elections are more than just a vote; they’re a decision on the future of our communities, heritage, and public services. This election is crucial, posing potential risks to the very fabric of Welsh society.

With changes in the electoral system, the dominance of long-standing parties like Labour may be in jeopardy, making every vote in every constituency count even more. What’s at stake? Insurgent populists who’ve been undermining public services and heritage across the UK could make Wales their next testing ground. They want to cut services and call heritage institutions “woke.” But not here, not in Wales!

Mike Clancy, head of the Prospect trade union, urges us to protect our heritage and public services. Institutions like the National Museum of Wales and the National Library of Wales are more than landmarks; they’re treasures, fiercely defended by dedicated professionals. Yet they’ve faced underfunding and job cuts, weakening the sector’s resilience and morale.
Imagine a Wales where public servants are recognised and valued, not undermined. If you care about these services, consider the parties that do too. Some right-wing parties plan cuts that could dismantle what makes Wales unique. We deserve clarity about their plans, especially concerning issues like public sector pensions which could affect millions.
Our Welsh heritage and public services are not pawns for political experiments! Choose candidates that respect our cultural legacy and who will safeguard our services.
In this Heart Unions Week, let’s remember our history of trade unionism, the rights we’ve earned, and the lives we aspire to improve. Let’s demand our politicians protect our cultural assets and public services. Wales is rich in history and spirit—let’s keep it that way! 💪🇬🇧
