π Fuel Duty Freeze Ending Soon! π

Hey, drivers! Changes are coming at the pump. New rules now require petrol stations to display their prices, helping you find the best deals and potentially saving you Β£40 a year! π‘πΊοΈ
But here’s the catch: The long-standing fuel duty freeze, which brought us that handy 5p relief since 2011, ends in September 2026. This freeze kept fuel duty at 52.95p per litre, but it’s set to rise again, increasing almost to 58p by March 2027. Combine that with 20% VAT, and we’re talking 81p in taxes per litre for diesel drivers.

For electric vehicle owners, a new ‘mileage tax’ kicks in from April 2028. Expect to pay around 3p per mile for fully electric cars and a bit less for hybrids. This is all part of funding road maintenance.
Keep an eye on these changes, and let’s hope for some more affordable fuel solutions soon! What’s your take on these shifts? π€π§
