💉 **Beware of Weight Loss Scams!** 💉

Jodi Jones, a mum-of-three, had a terrifying ordeal that nearly cost her life after purchasing weight loss jabs over WhatsApp. Desperate to slim down from a size 14 to a size 10, Jodi splashed out £80 on four ‘skinny jabs’ from a beautician. With NHS waiting times dragging on, she trusted a friend’s recommendation to try these injections.

After the first jab, Jodi felt queasy and experienced appetite loss, which she initially thought was a success as she lost half a stone in a week. However, the second jab turned her world upside down. She spent the night violently ill, vomiting blood, and fell in and out of consciousness. Her eldest daughter rushed her to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, where doctors found she was severely dehydrated.
The health scare was due to the fake jabs, not the semaglutide pen she thought she’d purchased. The beautician, contacted by Jodi’s mother, was dismissive and evasive when asked about the source of the products—a textbook scam warning sign.
Jodi’s message? Don’t fall into the trap she did. Always consult with your GP about weight loss treatments. Why pay for dubious “shortcuts” when trusted medical guidance is available?
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Jodi emphasised the value of proper medical advice: “Go to a GP. Do it through a dietician. If you’re interested, avoid beauticians peddling these jabs.” Even now, nearly two years later, she’s managing lingering health issues from the ordeal.
