Tragedy struck at the A48 Briton Ferry Bridge in Neath Port Talbot when police responded to reports of a man in distress. Sadly, the body of a 40-year-old man from the Baglan area was recovered from the river. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers. Witnesses reported seeing an air ambulance and multiple emergency vehicles at the scene as authorities temporarily closed the road to manage the situation. The bridge has now reopened.
