Rachel, a treasured mum and grandma from Sarn, Bridgend, was truly the “cornerstone” of her family, leaving behind six amazing children – Megan, Amy, Chloe, Katie, Madison, and Harri – and five beautiful grandchildren, along with her devoted partner Dean.
Rachel’s sudden departure has left her family, friends, and the wider community in shock. Her infectious warmth and unwavering support made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. At Broadlands AFC, where her youngest, Harri, played football, the club mourns the loss of such a supportive figure.
Harri’s coach, Gareth Thurlow, shared touching memories of Rachel’s constant sideline presence, cheering Harri on come rain or shine. “She was an absolute rock and matriarch, who kept her family together,” he said.
In a heartfelt display of unity, all age groups at Broadlands AFC paused for a minute’s silence to honour Rachel and support her grieving family. Additionally, a GoFundMe initiative was launched to ease the family’s financial burden, raising £1,000 within just one day. This overwhelming response showed how deeply Rachel touched those around her.
