🚢 **Abandoned Ship Alert! 🌊**
Ever wondered what happens when a giant ship just washes up on the coast? Well, here’s a story for the books! Meet the Resolute, a whopping 24-metre guard boat that found itself stranded on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast back in December 2025. And guess what? It’s still there, standing against the sea breeze, silently telling tales of that fateful night.
The Resolute, which used to be a fishing vessel before being turned into a guard boat for an offshore wind farm, went aground during some seriously rough weather, riding through force seven southerly winds. But thanks to quick action and the combined efforts of lifeboats, a coastguard rescue helicopter, and local teams, all four crew members onboard made it safely to shore. It did get a bit too exciting when one crew member ended up in the sea but was swiftly rescued by the brave Fishguard Inshore Lifeboat team.
Despite its dramatic arrival, the ship’s presence on the beautiful coastline hasn’t caused much trouble. The majority of its fuel has been removed, ensuring no nasty pollution troubles for the stunning coastal environment. HM Coastguard has been keeping a close watch, making sure everything remains shipshape (pun intended!).
The fate of the Resolute, however, is still in the hands of its owners. Will it be salvaged, or will it become a permanent part of the landscape, intriguing visitors for years to come? Only time will tell!
