⚠️ Beware of Rogue Builders! ⚠️

A family’s home turned into a nightmare after falling victim to a cowboy builder in South Wales. Lee Slocombe posed as a legitimate tradesman but left a trail of devastation, including a botched gas job that was a carbon monoxide disaster waiting to happen.

This dodgy builder, who operated under a fake identity, “Lee Lewis,” exploited locals from Cardiff to Swansea. His con didn’t just cost homeowners over £500,000—it endangered lives. Among his victims was a family with a 10-month-old baby, unknowingly living with a dangerous gas leak.

Slocombe, no stranger to fraud, was already banned from any building work. But that didn’t stop him! He used false credentials, targeting vulnerable people, and convincing them to pay for unnecessary work.
After repeatedly scamming families and leaving many homes in ruins, he’s been sent back to jail for six years. Judge Christopher Felstead called him a “persistent rogue,” noting how he falsely inflated costs and delivered work of shocking quality.
Fortunately, justice has been served, thanks to Cardiff Council’s diligent efforts. Cllr Norma Mackie applauded the court’s decision, hoping it brings some relief to the victims.
Stay vigilant and always double-check your tradesmen’s credentials to avoid being caught in a similar trap. Share this warning to stop others from falling prey to such deceitful practices. 🛠️🔍
