Merthyr Rugby Club is reeling after a disturbing event where several youngsters tried to set fire to the club’s valuable artificial pitch at The Wern! The pitch, costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, is vital for the community. The club is now pleading with parents to keep their children away from the grounds unless they’re attending organised events.
This isn’t child’s play—it’s a serious attempt to cause damage. The club is not taking this lightly, enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy. From now on, no unauthorised visits are allowed. Only those attending organised training or matches are welcome. Parental supervision is mandatory for anyone under 17 on the premises.
