๐ง Exciting News for Morfa Bychan Beach! ๐ง

If you’ve ever taken a drive to the stunning Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog in Gwynedd, you’ll know how busy it can get. This popular spot allows cars right onto the sand, but it’s also infamous for its traffic jams! ๐๏ธ๐
Well, good news! A major road widening project is kicking off to tackle over-tourism and ease congestion. Local authorities are working on broadening the narrow road leading to the beach from Morfa Bychan village. They’re also adding a footpath for safe pedestrian access and updating signage alongside a new barrier system.

Why the need for change? Last summer, the beach saw queues stretching back two miles, with nearly 1,500 vehicles cramming onto the sands daily! Such high traffic prompted concerns from local residents about disruptions, and authorities are keen to improve the situation.
During the construction, set to last around six weeks, the beach access road will be closed. But don’t worry! You can still reach the sands via Lรดn Gwydryn (Beach Road).
The transformation doesn’t stop at the roads. Expect enhanced facilities, improved access for disabled visitors, and better public information at this beloved beach. Thanks to support from the Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics fund, Morfa Bychan is set to become even more welcoming and accessible just in time for Easter!
So, if you’re planning a visit, get ready for a more enjoyable, less congested beach experience. Keep an eye out for new signage to help guide your way! โ๏ธ๐
